Gotta Make It is a short film made for a class at Gaylord College. I did every step of the process in making this short film myself, including writing the script, building the storyboard, filming the scenes, recording audio, and editing. The following is the entire narrative script for Gotta Make It - written by Sam Graziano.

Fade in

1 Int. Austin’s apartment - Day.

Austin gets back to his apartment after a day at college. 

He unlocks the front door and walks in. He drops his bag on the floor and then plops into his desk chair. 

He turns on his PC and begins to put on his headset when he gets a notification on his phone. 

Austin gets up and walks over to his bag and grabs his phone out of the top pocket and then walks back to his desk.

Austin opens his phone to see a notification that his crush texted him asking him out.

Austin looks visibly excited, jumping and fist pumping the air.

Austin immediately throws his phone down and begins to get ready.

2 Int. Bathroom - Day.

Austin starts to get ready but realizes that he is out of toothpaste.

3 Int. Walmart - Day.

Austin goes to walmart and buys toothpaste.

4 Int. Bedroom, Bathroom - Day.

Austin gets ready - brushes teeth, shower, puts on clothes.

Austin takes one last look in the mirror.

5 Int. Living Room - Day.

Austin goes into the living room, grabbing his stuff - phone, wallet, keys, bag.

Austin can’t find his wallet - begins looking everywhere.

He finally finds it under a hat.

6 Ext. Parking Lot - Day.

Austin leaves his apartment in a hurry, rushing to his car.

Austin makes it to his car and gets in. He goes to turn on the car, but it won’t start.

Austin is distraught, laying head on the steering wheel. He then gets an idea and leaves his car in a hurry.

He runs up to a VEO scooter and starts to try to rent it but it is out of battery.

Austin walks back to his apartment, depressed.

7 Int. Austin’s apartment - Evening.

Austin walks into his apartment and sits back down at his desk.

He begins to scoot up to the desk and turn his PC on when he sees the reflection of his skateboard in the monitor.

Austin grabs his skateboard and rushes back out.

8 Ext. Street - Evening.

Austin skates all the way to the restaurant.

He opens the door.

FIN
